You can now securely share virtually any 1Password item with anyone, even if they don't use 1Password!
To get started, open the share menu and select "Share" to generate a link, specify who you want to share the item with and for how long, then send out the link however you wish. It's as simple as copy and paste, without the security risks that come from pasting sensitive info directly into chat and email.
Use it to send logins to an external contractor, share the Wi-Fi password with your visiting in-laws, or pass a Secure Note to your partner.
Happy sharing!
As always, if you have any feedback (or just want to say hi), drop us a line in the forum, or @1Password on Twitter.

Improvements
1Password is now quicker to load data and uses less memory.
Fixed
When you save a new Login using the 1Password classic extension, 1Password mini would disable vaults where you don't have the Import Items permission. {OPW-4960}
When tabbing between fields in the item editor and then alt-tabbing to another app and back, focus was placed in the search field instead of the last focused field. {OPW-4963}
Closing 1Password while editing or creating a new item sometimes resulted in an item with no title shown until you locked and unlocked the app. {OPW-4964}
When the Create Item permission for a vault was revoked while offline, 1Password would repeatedly attempt to upload offline changes even though it could no longer make changes to items in that vault. {OPW-4958}
1Password didn't skip migrating Document items in the read-only vaults. {OPW-4958}
When using a hardware key to complete multi-factor authentication (MFA), 1Password would stop syncing without providing any user feedback. Hardware keys aren't supported with 1Password for Windows and attempting to use one would send an invalid MFA code. 1Password will now show a banner explaining the problem. Clicking the banner allows you to re-enter your MFA code. {OPW-4971}

If the 2FA token is missing in 1Password, it would not fall back to requesting a new token correctly. {OPW-4549}
The diagnostics report would not generate in certain network setups due to an incorrect parsing of the network settings, we now wait for a timeout before moving to the next phase instead of halting the report. {OPW-4537}

It’s gonna be a big one, folks! This release is jam packed with new features, fixes and improvements. These highlights are only the beginning.
Say a quick Hello! 👋 Unlock 1Password in a flash. Windows Hello will now come up automatically when it’s enabled the next time you need to unlock.
Lookin’ sharp! 😎 1Password now supports Per-Monitor DPI, so it always looks its best, no matter what monitor you’re using.
Quick like a fox! 🦊 We've improved the performance of 1Password by rebuilding most of its backend into Rust, including using the latest 1Password Brain library that's now natively built into 1Password.
Who are you again? 🤔 1Password now frees its memory much faster after locking by running tasks in separate processes that terminate when they’re done. Oh, before we forget, 1Password now forgets what it puts in your Windows 10's clipboard history, too.
Sock it to me! 🧦 1Password now supports more proxy options, including SOCKS5. Its new native network stack (more Rust!) can also respond to network changes on the fly, ensuring you stay connected.
Drag racin’!🏎 Drag your items to your vaults to move them. Or, if you dare, drag a field label from 1Password mini’s context menu to another app to fill it. Thinking a little bigger? You can drag from the main app, too!
And soooo much more! As always, if you have any feedback (or just want to say hi), drop us a line in the forum, or @1Password on Twitter.
New
Drag and drop items onto any vault in the vault sidebar. By default, the drop will perform a move action for items, but press and hold the Control key to Copy items instead. {OPW-3710, OPW-3546}
Drag any field in the main app, or the field name in 1Password mini’s context menu, to any text field in any application to fill it in. {OPW-2967}
You can now link directly to items within your 1Password vaults! Share these links with team and family members to point them right to items in shared vaults. {OPW-4467}
Turn off two-factor authentication for your 1Password accounts on authorized devices via the Accounts menu. {OPW-3975}
Continuing our recent improvements with Secure Desktop, 1Password now separates most of its tasks into their own processes which terminate quickly when they're done and/or when 1Password is locked. {OPW-2005}
1Password will now show Windows Hello automatically if available and enabled. {OPW-1788}
1Password now opts out of Windows 10's Clipboard History when copying any data within 1Password. {OPW-1123, OPW-4139, OPW-4187}
Added Control + Shift + F keyboard shortcut to search all items. {OPW-3185}
1Password is now per-monitor DPI aware, which means it remains sharp on any type of monitor setup you have. {OPW-2942}
1Password now requires .NET Framework 4.7.2. {OPW-3958, OPW-4270}
Scan your 1Password Emergency Kit PDF file when signing in to your 1Password account. {OPW-4243}
SOCKS5 proxy support is now available. {OPW-3450, OPW-3550}
Added a “No Proxy Server” option to our Proxy settings. {OPW-3436}
Improvements
Upgraded to a new native version of the 1Password Brain library with a lot of improvements for our filling and saving algorithms. {OPW-3860, OPW-3930}
Reused Passwords will skip any Login and Password items when both the password and website match, so your generated password items will no longer be considered to be reusing the password for your saved Login items. {OPW-3791}
Upgraded to the latest Go and Fill mechanism that uses the 1Password browser extension to open websites and to fill instead of the onepasswordfill:// method. {OPW-1898}
Reimplemented the Shift shortcut to open websites without filling. Hold the shift key when clicking a URL or pressing enter to bypass the filling part. {OPW-4489}
Checking for vulnerable passwords is now significantly faster than previous versions. {OPW-4428}
Multiple monitor support has been improved. Using Windows shortcuts to move 1Password between monitors and/or snap/resize them now works more reliably. {OPW-3186, OPW-2853, OPW-3521, OPW-2942}
We've switched 1Password back to using the default Windows title bar and frame style. This will restore the system animations for minimizing, restoring, and resizing 1Password, which are now smooth.
1Password now comes with a brand new native network stack that will respond quickly to your network environments. {OPW-3550}
Hostname/DNS entries can be entered in the 1Password proxy settings. {OPW-3473}
Proxy auto-detection now works with multiple stored authenticated proxies. {OPW-4465}
Improved our proxy auto-detection to validate and exclude empty URLs sent by certain router configurations. {OPW-4454}
More improvements toward handling Windows network settings related to network scripts and proxies. {OPW-4506}
Multiple accessibility improvements in various areas of 1Password. {OPW-4510}
Updated our translations with the latest from our incredible translators on Crowdin.
Watchtower's Compromised Websites and Inactive Two-Factor Authentication features now check for subdomains first. {OPW-4366, OPW-4364}
1Password will remember the last used folder for downloaded attachments. If the last used folder is missing, it'll fall back to the user's Downloads folder. {OPW-3153, OPW-3057}
Added an Advanced > Security setting to prevent Windows Hello from showing automatically on the lock view. {OPW-4478}
1Password now trashes the oldest backups instead of sending them to recycle bin. {OPW-4052}
The 1Password account name is now included in certain sign-in error messages. {OPW-3266}
In-app authentication banners will automatically be removed upon successful login. {OPW-4432}
When using 1Password installer with the --silent command line argument in the terminal, it no longer outputs logs in the terminal. {OPW-4485}
1Password will now notify via in-app banner when its database optimizations have completed. {OPW-3761}
Quick copy menu (Control+Shift+C) now shows up next to the selected item instead of the mouse cursor. {OPW-3773}
Quick copy menu now works on Password items. {OPW-3773}
Drag text in any field to move data between fields in the item editor. {OPW-1120}
Pasting multi-line text content will be inserted as one line in most fields except for the multi-line Notes field. {OPW-3754}
Improved the design of the unlock view. {OPW-3293}
When checking for a 1Password update, 1Password will download any update it finds before it prompts to install it, speeding up the update process dramatically. {OPW-3756}
The 1Password updater can now install the update on the next app launch if it cannot install the update during the current user session. In addition, when it can’t install the update, it will roll back the process and start the previously installed version for you. {OPW-3756}
If you download the beta version of 1Password, it'll enable the beta update option for you and visa versa for the stable version. Installing the stable version will reset it back to the stable channel if you used a beta build in the past. {OPW-3350}
Simplified the Updates setting view – now beta updates are just a button away and we've updated the setting description as 1Password now installs updates on the next app start. {OPW-3816}
When an update fails, 1Password will notify the user, and it'll try again after 24 hours. {OPW-4479}
1Password will check for Watchtower updates after a 1Password update has completed.
Added the Enter shortcut to the Windows Hello button's tooltip and fixed the alignment of the Windows Hello icon. {OPW-3800, OPW-3848}
Settings shortcut has changed from F9 to Control + , and is now accessible from all 1Password windows. {OPW-4501, OPW-4492}
Watchtower will immediately re-check items as they come in. {OPW-4507}
1Password will notify the user when a file attachment for a Document item could not be downloaded due to a network issue such as being offline. {OPW-1859}
We've removed the approved/rejected browsers views from 1Password's Browsers settings as it no longer serves its original purpose which was to reset/show 1Password browser authorization process in the previous WebSocket protocol for the 1Password browser extensions. As of 1Password 7.0, we've not only removed WebSocket support but have also improved the authorization process to start anew on every browser start. Resetting is no longer needed nor is tracking previous authorizations. {OPW-1715}
Added extra validations to 1Password.exe command arguments processor. {OPW-3777}
When 1Password detects an incompatible database created by a newer version, it will notify the user to use the newer version of 1Password. {OPW-3837}
Clarified and updated the descriptions of Watchtower's features. {OPW-3516}
The default Personal/Private and Everyone/Shared vault names will now be localized based on the application's language setting. {OPW-3997}
The lock view is now usable in Windows' high contrast themes. {OPW-4494}
Improved how we validate browsers' certificates. Now, in addition to checking the validity of code signatures, we will support certificates that are still valid but may have an expired signing key. An expired signing key doesn't invalidate the entire certificate as there's a separate expiration timestamp for the certificate itself. {OPW-3651}
When editing nested tags with \ as the delimiter, 1Password will automatically convert it to / upon saving. {OPW-3827}
Improved accessibility on the import and export windows. {OPW-2290}
On the first install, 1Password will switch to the user's system language by default instead of using English all the time. {OPW-3866, OPW-2901}
Our crash reports will now try to capture loaded modules that tried to interject themselves into our processes as per our partner's recommendation to investigate unexplained crashes. {OPW-3762}
Major internal improvements to our codebase to increase performance and stability.
The Unlock 1Password view will now show up next to your cursor and dismiss automatically if it is not focused anymore. {OPW-3885, OPW-3888}
1Password will now present its views in separate windows instead of flyouts in the main window. This is to maximize the compatibility with our new isolated process model, but it also enables the ability to handle certain tasks without the need to open the main window such as quickly changing settings, authenticating with multi-factor authentication tokens when requested, signing in to a new 1Password account and more. {OPW-2005}
CSV export should now be more consistent and formatted properly. {OPW-3442}
Usernames and Passwords in the CSV export should now be detectable in Chrome and other apps. {OPW-3247}
Type to select is now available on the item list's context menu. {OPW-3839}
The "Scan from My Screen" option for One-Time Password QR codes and 1Password Setup Codes should be more reliable now. {OPW-3690}
The Accounts submenus should show a more reliable Last Sync timestamp. {OPW-2834}
1Password will skip downloading a fresh Watchtower database if the "Check for compromised websites" option is disabled. {OPW-4163}
Basic Windows errors should support Hi-DPI rendering now. {OPW-4002}
1Password will now back up its local database before performing any database migrations as part of its updates. {OPW-3951}
If 1Password is already on a Secure Desktop, it will not display the Secure Desktop icon on the Unlock 1Password view. {OPW-4221}
On Windows 10, 1Password will prompt to approve any external processes that open up on top of 1Password's Secure Desktop. {OPW-4222}
Folder Sync now selectively syncs modified vaults only instead of all standalone vaults. {OPW-4304}
1Password should be more responsive when opening and/or syncing standalone vaults. {OPW-4086}
The scanning progress bar under Vulnerable Passwords is now deterministic.
Saving attachments and/or viewing Document image previews are now counted as item usage for team administrators. {OPW-4325}
1Password no longer needs to reload the item lists to add new Rich or Custom icons. It will refresh the loaded icon instead. {OPW-3439}
Rich Icon requests are now parallelized making them 10x faster than before. {OPW-4324}
When importing or copying standalone vault items with attachments to 1Password accounts, 1Password will now prepend the parent item's name to the Document item's title that includes the attachment. {OPW-3871}
Added a button to the "About 1Password" window to open our list of thanks to third party libraries we use in 1Password in an external text editor instead. {OPW-4155}
Dropped support for legacy Edge. We recommend switching to the new Microsoft Edge browser for the ultimate 1Password X experience. {OPW-4401}
Updated to the latest diagnostics report format. {OPW-4216}
Favoriting and trashing items should be more reliable by fully re-encrypting them, instead of re-encrypting the metadata only. {OPW-4251}
1Password now clarifies when a 1Password account has been suspended or deleted on the 1Password account sign-in view. {OPW-4406}
The Share menu is now disabled if there are no usable vaults to send items to. {OPW-4385}
Revealing 1Password directory or its log via the Help menu now opens the folder directly instead of selecting it in Explorer for you to open. {OPW-4511}
Fixed
Closing 1Password while adding multiple attachments to a standalone item could cause 1Password to hang. {OPW-4415}
Adding or removing tags via the context menu in the item list didn’t modify the item's timestamp. {OPW-4431}
1Password would redirect to the item's category view after making changes in a separate view instead of staying within the same item list such as Weak Passwords or Favorites. {OPW-3389}
Item usage wasn't being reported correctly in certain conditions. {OPW-3793}
Rich Icons would be clipped on the right side when viewing them in the item details view. {OPW-4280}
1Password would sometimes slow down due to refreshing Rich Icons. {OPW-3984}
When checking items against the Pwned Passwords database, 1Password would excessively refresh and cause item list scrolling to get stuck. {OPW-3380}
When attempting to import an empty AgileKeychain vault, 1Password would incorrectly say an incorrect Master Password was entered. Now, it'll say there is nothing to import. {OPW-4205}
When Windows' Explorer reset, the 1Password icon in notification tray didn't get restored. {OPW-3648}
The option to move items from a frozen 1Password account was incorrectly enabled. {OPW-4021}
Selecting and dragging a tag's name while renaming it in the sidebar caused 1Password to crash. {OPW-3953}
It wasn't possible to move 1Password between monitors in both directions with Windows shortcuts. {OPW-3186}

Watchtower banners within the items are now ranked by their severity and they can be collapsed.
Watchtower now exclude 6-digit PINs in its check as long as the items don't have a website saved.

Prettier passwords with colors, our Courier Prime Bits font and a helpful color-coded password strength indicator to help you beef up the weak ones.
Credit card numbers are formatted for greater readability, new default images have been added for common card types, and we can detect which card type based on the first few digits in your credit card number.
The item editor couldn’t let the viewer have all the fun and has been polished up as well. You can now reorder your sections in the editor, plus UI buttons were added to help you sort your fields and sections quickly.
Item templates and categories are now fully localized, completing the localization support in 1Password 7.
Adding a custom field is easy as pie! You can now choose a field type first and 1Password help by auto-labeling the field name if you wish to use the default names. Plus, use `Shift + Enter` to quickly change field types and/or delete them.

Configure 1Password to open your Logins in a new tab, current tab or new browser window from the Settings cog in 1Password mini.
The type in Window list is now a scrollable list with a fixed height and supports type to select, rather than attempting a hostile takeover of your screen real estate.
For our oldest friends
Folder Sync has been rebuilt for faster and more reliable performance.
You can now drag and drop files onto your items to add them as attachments.
Edit and change your standalone vault's passwords right from 1Password 7.
Give your items a makeover of their own by editing or removing custom icons.
But wait! There’s more!
Update now and experience our brand new installer to improve our ability to install updates around third party interferences and a brand new retry mechanism that's reliable to use.
1Password is quicker to respond when first started. It can restore the last used item when closing and reopening the main window, and we’ve made multiple adjustments to improve 1Password mini to focus better and show the last used item as well.
Viewing super-large secure note items now results in a scrollable mini view instead of causing performance issue trying to render the entire view.
Over 100 general improvements and bug/crash fixes in this monster update.
Unlock using Secure Desktop is here! Click the Secure Desktop icon to create an isolated desktop where only the 1Password processes will be authorized to run on and you can type in your master password to unlock 1Password. Certain large standalone vaults couldn't be compressed fully due to its size. {OPW-3678}
1Password would halt its sync or import when it encountered one problematic item it couldn't import, even if there were more items to import. Now, it'll notify about skipped items but continue to import the rest of the data. {OPW-3676}
In certain rare conditions, opening the main 1Password window from the notification icon wouldn't do anything.
A few missing separator bars in the Setting views.

New generated passwords will be word-wrapped in 1Password mini password generator. {OPW-1928}
When there is no subtitle to use for items in the item list, 1Password will show `-` instead. {OPW-3441}

Happy Holidays!
Thanks to our beta testers for helping us test the new installer, we've improved it in this 7.3 Beta 4 update to continue using the same app directory instead of a new build-specific folder for each app update. This should help address the shortcut issues.
Compatibility update for Chrome 72 Beta and future Chrome stable updates. {OPW-3645, OPW-3650}
Item viewer has been refreshed with a modern design. {OPW-2629}
Click any field to copy it or the field's contextual default option such as Open for the URL field. Right-click any field for additional contextual options such as reveal, large type, and more coming soon. {OPW-1452}

In this beta 2 update for 1Password 7.3, we have the beloved Unlock using Secure Desktop now available for you to use, go give it a try and let us know how it works out for you in our 1Password for Windows Beta forum.
New
Unlock using Secure Desktop is here! Click the Secure Desktop icon to create an isolated desktop where only the 1Password processes will be authorized to run on and you can type in your master password to unlock 1Password. You can also trigger Secure Desktop via Control + Enter in the empty Master Password field to avoid using the mouse. {OPW-2339}
1Password now records the password history for all items, not just Login and Password items. Only the first password field will be used to record the password history for certain templates with multiple password fields. {OPW-2251}
Improvements
Item lists within Watchtower categories are now filtered in real-time when searching. {OPW-3630}
1Password now shows a progress bar when signing into a large 1Password account for the first time. {OPW-3527}
The password history for the item is no longer shown in the item editor as they're not changeable. {OPW-3171}
Fields with empty values will not be shown in the item viewer. {OPW-3386}
1Password will repair missing shortcuts for the start menu at each update. {OPW-3622}
We've added more detailed logs for our installer to log when it fails to update or remove old files. {OPW-3622}
1Password start-menu shortcut will be migrated to the Start Menu > Programs directory for better compatibility with third-party apps like application launchers that uses the Start Menu > Programs directory to find programs. {OPW-3622}
Fixed
1Password did not restore to its previous window state after installing an update. {OPW-3588}
1Password did not remove all registry keys related to 1Password extension during the uninstallation. {OPW-3568}
The new installer incorrectly stopped all 1Password tasks from all user sessions on the computer instead of the current user session only. {OPW-3625}
Notification tray icon should be more reliable now. You may notice a duplicate 1Password entry in the Taskbar settings, this may be cleared up by Windows in time.
Custom template fields were showing its unique IDs instead of its name, this was a regression caused by the localization changes and our custom template feature does not support multiple localizations at the moment. {OPW-3621}
7.3.602.BETA
(build #602)
– released 2018-12-05
– download
In this beta, 1Password 7.3 brings new meaning to better, faster, stronger. Enjoy lightning fast syncing with your standalone vaults, greater overall stability, fully localized item templates, and much more.
Categories and item template are now localized. When you create a new item in your language, 1Password will check for and download the latest localizations from our 1Password.com service. {OPW-3432}
Configure 1Password to open your Login items in a new browser tab, current tab, or in a new browser window – you can choose the option in 1Password mini settings > Open URLs in. {OPW-1985}
1Password now has its own in-house installer. The new installer will give us more flexibility such as installing 1Password to its own versioned folder. This will bypass "file in use" issues and incomplete installs due to false positives by certain anti-malware solutions. {OPW-2324, OPW-1323, OPW-1246, OPW-1276, OPW-1949}
We have rebuilt and optimized our Folder Sync engine for standalone vaults. It is faster, smarter, and uses less of your system's resources. {OPW-3008, OPW-3145}
1Password.exe has been added to Windows' list of registered app paths. This allows us to open 1Password in the Windows run dialog without entering the full path to the 1Password executable file. This will enable quicker and easier functions such as 1Password --diagnostics to generate a diagnostics report directly for customer support purposes. {OPW-3522}
1Password will output a list of supported command line arguments via 1Password.exe --help and 1PasswordSetup(version).exe. For command prompt, use start 1Password -help.
Added an advanced troubleshooting option to reset all 1Password data. This will help those who need to start over with 1Password but picked up an old 1Password database, or forgot their Master Password and need to start fresh. {OPW-3444}
Added a troubleshooting option to reveal the 1Password directory in Explorer for customer support purposes. {OPW-3522}
1Password now shows Beta on its titlebar to help indicate it will receive beta updates. {design-397}
Improvements
The keyboard shortcut for Open and Fill in the main 1Password window has been changed from Enter to Control + Enter. This ensures pressing the Enter key in the Logins item list selects the item to view it and does not accidentally trigger Open and Fill for that item. {OPW-3541}
Watchtower's Reused and Weak Passwords categories now exclude items with PINs that contain 6 digits or fewer and do not contain a saved website address. {OPW-3393}
Watchtower can now be manually updated in 1Password Watchtower settings. {OPW-3551}
1Password now ranks Watchtower banners by their severity, meaning the Vulnerable banner will show for an item that may be also using a weak or reused password. {OPW-3507}
1Password now notifies you if you're offline due to dismissing the multi-factor authentication dialog. {OPW-3533}
Field buttons (copy/reveal/large type) now hover next to your data instead of on the far right side. {OPW-334}
The order of the field buttons has changed. The copy button is first, then reveal, and then large type. {OPW-2079}
Updated translations from our translation team.
Added a button next to a new custom field to let you specify a field type without entering data first. {OPW-1521}
1Password now auto-labels new fields when using the add new field button. {OPW-3525}
When creating a new standalone vault, 1Password will validate the title and paths to make sure it complies with Windows' restrictions, such as invalid characters and max file path length. {OPW-3518}
1Password will now ask for the master password before you can export your data. {OPW-1764}
Type in Window via 1Password mini will now show a smaller, scrollable list of windows instead of taking up the entire screen. {OPW-3523}
The F12 keyboard shortcut has been changed to Control + F12 for the 1Password Developer Tools window.
The notification tray app on the taskbar has been rebuilt to directly call Windows APIs with native code instead of using the UI libraries. This will improve the stability of 1Password. {OPW-1110}
Adjustments were made to focus 1Password mini better when clicking the 1Password extension in the web browsers. {OPW-3519}
1Password can now refresh custom icons in real time after syncing standalone vaults. {OPW-3579}
Updated large parts of the 1Password codebase to prepare it for future features and general improvements across the board.
Fixed
The default vault for saving setting didn't persist after restarting 1Password. {OPW-3506}
1Password didn't autosave when it exited via 1Password > Exit menu and an item was still in the edit mode. {OPW-3561}
1Password didn't automatically save the proxy credentials when it prompts for it. {OPW-1117}
Watchtower checked non-Login items with custom password fields that aren't supposed to be included. {OPW-3426}
Watchtower will now check all template password fields in other categories, except the custom password fields. {OPW-3416}
Inactive 2FA in Watchtower didn't include Login items with saved URLs that didn't have either the http:// or https:// protocol saved. {OPW-3548}
1Password will no longer show AgileBits.OnePassword.SectionAddressFieldPart error when changing a custom address field to a different type. {OPW-3514}
The custom field type menu didn't show a checkmark on the current selected type. {OPW-2387}
Super-long notes would cause 1Password to hang. We will switch 10K or larger secure notes to a non-wrapping text view to avoid the performance issue. {OPW-2340, OPW-3368}
1Password would show dates a day later for folks that live in in the UTC + 12/13/14 time zones (New Zealand, for example). {OPW-1509, OPW-2618}
After unlock, 1Password sometimes didn't respond to the first click on the sidebar. {OPW-3612}
1Password now filters out the NULL (string terminator) character \0 when pasting in text with that character as it would truncate the rest of the text. {OPW-1240}
Removed excessive logs caused by connecting to the 1Password extension in Microsoft Edge. {OPW-3499}
When a device had been de-authorized, 1Password reset the local database but did not reset the app back to the welcome view. {OPW-3474}
1Password would restore a cached rendered 1Password mini view before showing the locking animation when it should've shown a locked view right off the bat. To fix this aggressively, we are now dismissing 1Password mini windows completely when it auto-locks in the background. We'll try to find a way to maintain a locked mini view without the rendering glitch. {OPW-3212}
When removing or renaming tags on the sidebar without selecting the tag first, 1Password would process the item list instead of just the tagged items. {OPW-3530, OPW-3532}
If the setting for Windows Hello cannot be changed due to Group Policy or an unsupported Windows version, 1Password incorrectly showed it grayed out "On" instead of "Off". {OPW-3387}
Security
The 1Password Developer Tools windows did not automatically close themselves when 1Password auto-locked. {OPW-3544}
We've updated the code signature/certificate for 1Password as the previous certificate was set to expire in Feb, 2019. {OPW-3485}

1Password now performs its proxy detection in a separate thread to avoid interfering with the main interface. {OPW-2379}
To help with debugging, 1Password will now include a timestamped log of each item change and for which vault; no private data is recorded, only the item's ID and its vault IDs. {OPW-2380}

Clicking the edit button should be faster now. {OPW-2384}
In a rare condition, 1Password didn't migrate the account ID correctly when upgrading an old 1Password 6 database to the 7th version due to the 1Password account having since enabled its Two-Factor Authentication. {OPW-2373}
1Password now stops the animation when its window is not the frontmost window. {OPW-2189}
When backing up standalone vaults, 1Password would create and include an extra zero-byte file called `default` but the `default` folder was already backed up, there was no need for this file anymore. {OPW-1115}

For 1Password 7.2, we’ve drastically improved filling credit cards, identities, and logins with the 1Password browser extensions. We did this with the help from our new Machine Learning Classifier model used to train the extension to be more accurate and to enable more features. One such new feature, 1Password can fill your 2FA/OTP tokens, simply by using the same shortcut you use to fill your Logins.
We'd love to hear your feedback at our 1Password forum or you can get in touch at support@1password.com, @1Password on Twitter, and Facebook.

1Password can now fill your two-factor authentication/TOTP codes with the same shortcut that you use to fill your Login (Control + \), you can disable the clipboard option for copying the TOTP code to your clipboard if you wish.
You can now rename or delete tags on the sidebar; right-click on the tag to do so or if you're a keyboard user; select the tag and then use F2 to rename or the Delete key to delete. {OPW-433}
Password items can now be converted to Logins via the Convert to Login button next to the Edit button. {OPW-292}
Improvements
1Password now shows all nested tags when its parent tag is selected. {OPW-2327}
Starting 1Password should be much faster on certain setups.
Core database optimizations to accommodate future features; database initialization has been sped up by several times and network configuration is finished twice as fast.
Network compatibility fixes for certain VPN clients such as Nord VPN and Proton VPN. {OPW-2271}
Avoid creating a new backup (for standalone vaults) for every changes made on the same day, a new daily backup is created only by the first change on each day. We've also made the backups more efficient and we now move old backups to your Recycle Bin. {OPW-2281}
Additional validations added to the Proxy settings to avoid accepting user-entered invalid proxy address or port data.
Syncing multiple tag updates is more reliable. {OPW-1909}

Resolving sync conflicts would sometime set the wrong favorite/trashed flags on the merged items.
After a vulnerable Login item has been updated with a new password, 1Password didn't immediately check to see if the new password is vulnerable and then to remove the vulnerable banner if it is no longer vulnerable.
1Password didn't pause its Watchtower update checks when the computer was offline. {OPW-2308}
When attempting to open a license file while 1Password wasn't running, 1Password would start but it didn't take the license. {OPW-2305}
On certain international setups, using the AltGR key to insert a symbol (@, Euro, etc) inside the password field would unintentionally de-focus the password field. {OPW-2331}
Certain network setups would cause false detections of proxy, causing 1Password to not sync properly. {OPW-KNU-899}
1Password could crash in certain conditions when applying user-entered proxy settings.
A crash fix on certain setups where there may be a 32-bit/64-bit mixup with 1Password Brain file.
Security
Removed the extra code to check and uninstall the oldest 1Password 6.0-6.3 versions from our installer, the extra code was needed due to a different installer and product IDs used in these old versions. This will prevent false positives in certain security tools that wondered why we check for a different product ID to remove. {OPW-2309}

For 1Password 7.2 Beta 1, we've done a brain transplant which resulted in 1Password leveling up on its intelligence when it comes to filling and saving your 1Password data via its browser extensions. Redesigned. Recoded. Rebuilt. The heart and soul of 1Password remain but everything else has changed. Welcome to the fastest, most secure, and most versatile version of 1Password for Windows ever created. Built from the ground up, it's modern, supercharged, and smarter than ever before. We're incredibly excited to tell you all about it; we could have written an epic. Here are some highlights.
Hey there, gorgeous!
We haven’t just slapped on a fresh coat of paint: 1Password 7 has been created from scratch. Our designers worked tirelessly, leaving no pixel untouched, resulting in an app that’s as exciting to look at as it is to use. It all starts with the lock screen but doesn’t stop there. Once you've marvelled at our new unlock animations, you’ll see a clean, modern layout with a beautiful new sidebar. The core of 1Password hasn’t changed, so you’ll be able to find your items easily, but you will notice they’ve never looked better. New fonts, rich icons, and custom icons are also available for your viewing pleasure.
All Vaults, now all yours
Not just beauty, the sidebar has brains and brawn, too. It provides a powerful new way to organize your items by giving you access to all your vaults, in one place. Clicking on the sidebar header will reveal your vaults. Just click on an account or vault to view its items, or click All Vaults to see everything. Vaults make managing and sharing items so easy, you'll probably find yourself with lots of them, and Search will help you find what you need quickly.
1Password mini: your new best friend
Speaking of pretty and powerful, 1Password mini has been completely redesigned. You'll automatically see logins for the website you're visiting, and selecting one will fill your username and password for you. Its one-time password will also be copied to your clipboard if two-factor authentication is enabled. How’s that for handy?
1Password mini will hop in and offer to save new logins as you sign in to your favorite sites and services. It will also help you organize new items by allowing you to name them, assign tags, and choose a destination vault.
Like a true best friend, mini is always there for you. It will alert you if a website has been breached so you know to change the password for that item.
Say “hello” with Windows Hello
1Password 7 adds support for Windows Hello so you can unlock 1Password using your fingerprint or your beautiful face. Security is always our top priority, so you will need to provide your Master Password the first time you unlock 1Password. Following that, let Windows Hello unlock it for you.
All in the family
1Password 7 was built with a spirit of inclusivity. We want you to feel at home using it so we've made this version available to more users than ever. This begins with a choice of how you’d like to store your data: in a standalone vault or a 1Password account.
1Password 7 has been localized into eleven different languages including: Français, Deutsch, Italiano, 日本語, 한국어, Português, Pyсский, 简体中文, 繁體中文, and Español.
We've also ensured that it is fully accessible for those who use assistive technologies.
And that’s not all
There are so many amazing features packed into 1Password 7—we just can’t summarize them all. We thought we'd list a few others we've been enjoying most:
Search power-ups — use `file:`, `tag:`, or `title:` in the search box to find things faster and easier than ever before.
Nested tags — add tags within tags (using `/`) and 1Password will break them down into groups for better organization.
2FA integration — 1Password can now scan your screen for a one-time password QR code to save it to your Login items.
Super-speedy — the main app and mini now work as one, and with an all new local database, 1Password 7 is unbelievably fast.
This is the best version of 1Password for Windows ever released and we're not even close to being finished. Please join us on this journey to make 1Password for Windows _even_ better by sharing your feedback in the forum, or by getting in touch at support@1password.com, @1Password on Twitter, and Facebook. Thank you!

Good news, everyone! 1Password 6.6 for Windows is finally here -- the biggest update we've done for 1Password 6 since its first release back in October.
We've added many of the features you've been asking for: Rich Icons now adorne your items, you can mark items as Favorites, move items betweens vaults and 1Password accounts, duplicate items, restore items from Trash, and the list goes on. No, really, it does. Just keep scrolling through the summary below. You'll see.
Along with these new features, we've also given 1Password a fresh coat of paint -- a new sidebar in the main 1Password window along with a redesigned vault menu where you can search for a specific vault or select a specific account to view its vaults. This also applies to 1Password mini with a new sidebar color and the new vault menu. Speaking of 1Password mini, it has been greatly improved with more accurate matching as well as filtering out any items you don't want to see, better and more accurate search results, Favorites accessible on the sidebar, and more in the same long list that we've mentioned.
One more thing, we've also added the Automatic Update feature to this update. With this enabled by default, 1Password will automatically update whenever it is locked and sees there is an available update. That way, when you come back to 1Password, it'll tell you it has updated itself (you can click to open the release notes) and you're ready to start using the newer version effortlessly.
Important: Import is now the preferred method for migrating existing local vaults to a 1Password account. The older, unsupported manual-sync method has been deprecated in this update.
All of this would not have happened without our customers helping us! Thank you and be sure to share your feedback on this update and in the 1Password Support forum.
New

We had some paint left, so we've slapped some on 1Password mini as well.
And with the last few remaining drops of paint, we've redesigned the vault menu in the main 1Password window and 1Password mini; you can now search for vaults and/or select a specific account to view its vaults. {OPW-180}
1Password mini now ranks your Login items on a site with exact matches first and then close matches. {OPW-370}
Got too many Logins on the same site domain? You can now narrow it down by searching for the item in 1Password mini; it will also return all Login items on other domains below the top domain matches. {OPW-1141, OPW-932}

This specific request is for registering our own logs with Windows Event Viewer, such action requires admin rights. We'll look into a different solution to negate this requirement. This is a one-time only, every updates afterward will not require admin rights.
The new installer will make sure to close all files needed before updating to a new version, this is most useful on older systems where updating can fail because Windows didn't close the files in time.
