If you are like most people you are now checking your Apple Watch, Fitbit or other fitness tracking device. I am a little afraid to check mine to be honest. However, there is now a new an exciting way to track a different aspect of your team's activity with our brand new Activity Log feature in 1Password Teams!
The Activity Log tracks the changes made in your 1Password Teams account for Team Members, Groups and Vaults. Simply look at a Team Member, Group or Vault in the Admin Console and you will see the most recent changes listed in the Activity Log on the right hand side.
There is also a brand new Activity Log tab itself that will show a broader view of your team's updates, and allow you to filter results or select date ranges. This can be incredibly useful if you are trying to figure out changes such as who updated a vault, or removed someone from a group!
At this time, the Activity Log is still pretty new, so we've made it an opt-in feature. If you want to see the Activity Log then go to Settings within the Admin Console. There you will find the option to enable the Activity Log for your Teams account. Enjoy!

Well hello there again. It has been almost a week since our last build to production which quite frankly is far too long. I'll be getting us back to more regular updates, after all we have a huge list of improvements planned for you in the coming weeks and months :)
Today's build comes with its own set of really nice improvements and new features.
One nice new feature is the ability to deauthorize a device. Your My Profile page in your 1Password account contains a list of your currently authorized devices.
If you have a device on there that you no longer want connected to your 1Password account you can now click on the "X" beside that device to deauthorize it.
Once deauthorized, you will not be able to use your 1Password data on that device until you re-add your account.
New
Owners and Admins can now manage all groups.
Added the ability to remove authorized devices.
In vault view, you can now add multiple websites to a Login item.
In vault view, added a keyboard shortcut (⇧⌘M) for admins to open the vault they're currently viewing in the admin console so they can manage it.
Improvements
You can now remove yourself from a group if you can manage the group.
In vault view, multi-line fields (such as software license keys) are now supported. {925}
Make invoices easier to read when team members are added or removed.
Fixed
Some owners and admins were seeing incomplete text in the sidebar of the home page. {1515}
Well, the Raptors put on a valiant effort and after games 3 and 4 looked like they had a chance to reach the finals, but ultimately the Cavs were just way too strong. Even so, it was a great season for the Toronto Raptors.
With the NBA finals over (as far as Toronto is concerned) we can refocus our efforts on new 1Password builds!
Today's new build has a number of nice fixes for you, including a change to properly show the discount line on your next invoice. Now you can more easily see how the total was calculated.
Fixed
Fixed problem where Documents created by early versions of 1Password could not be modified.
A bug where in rare cases some accounts were frozen too early on a failed payment. {1653}
Now properly showing discounts on invoices and billing page {1654}, {1558}
To make the web vault view match our Mac app, the notes section is now at the top of the item detail view (above custom sections) for Secure Note items.
Added banner and popup to let you know if your account is frozen and read-only (if your trial is expired, and you have not subscribed).
Improved auto-correct in domain entry form (removing https:// prefix and .1password.com suffix).
Fixed
Fixed problem where invoices were not created at the end of the day after changing the team size.
Fixed problem where Admin Console did not refresh automatically after activating a subscription.
Fixed problem where large team member confirmation requests were rejected.
Added the ability to show a company name and additional billing info on invoices. See the Settings page in the Admin Console to update your invoice settings. {1432}
Introduced a new quest to make it easy to find where to add your credit card. {1118}
Improvements
You can now delete custom groups or change their name, description, or avatar. {1605}
Fixed
Fixed an issue where vaults that contained a corrupt item with an undefined title wouldn't load.
Fixed an issue in vault view where the item's "last modified by" user wouldn't be updated in the UI after saving an item.
Annual plans that add or remove users will have billing adjusted (be billed) at the end of each day.
Improvements
Document items can now be moved/copied between vaults.
We now run cursory tests in the browser to determine if 1Password will function properly there, rather than sniffing the browser's user agent string. {487}
Improved family role selector on person detail pages. {1108}
For admins, seeing "shared vaults" could be confusing since not all vaults are necessarily shared. They're now just "vaults", and the Vaults tab of the Admin Console shows all vaults except the user's Personal vault, which cannot be managed anyway. {1547}
Fixed
A bug where we weren’t sending out an email on a failed payment if no card was added. {1588}
Fixed an issue where the "Open" and "Copy" buttons for an item's website field may be cut off in Safari. {1582}
A recent change caused an obscure message to be shown when sign in failed. Now it's a bit more clear. {1604}
Fixed problem with group-based vault access that caused issues in client apps. {1560}
Do you have a 1Password item that you use so often that you want to set it as a Favourite? Or perhaps you accidentally created it in your Personal vault when you meant to place it in a shared vault? No worries, now you can Favourite or Duplicate your items right within the Vault View. You can also Move or Copy your items from the current vault to any of your other vaults.

An error where discounts may not properly display in the invoice.
Did you know that John Madden was born on this day (May 4th) in 1973? I can immediately hear your minds working overtime thinking... "but John Madden is wasn't born in May, he's much older than that, and he's not even Canadian!". All true, but I am talking about this (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Madden_(ice_hockey)) John Madden. This slightly lesser known John Madden was one of the best defensive forwards in hockey, winning the Selke Trophy along with three Stanley Cups.
I hope you enjoyed this bit of trivia along with some pretty nice fixes in today's build :)
Improvements
If you run into a rare "incorrect vault content version" error when saving an item in vault view, there's now a better, more descriptive error message.
Fixed
Fixed an issue with the layout of devices in the list of authorized devices. {1531}
Fixed an issue where you wouldn't be able to cancel the creation of a new item when the vault is empty.
Fixed an issue where you'd get an error message when emptying the trash if the items you were emptying are the last items in the vault.
Did you know that 6 years ago today the iPad was first introduced. Personally I never owned the original iPad, my first one was the iPad 2. Now, I spend so much time on my iPad (now the iPad Pro) that it is hard for me to remember what it was like before they existed. It is quite interesting how much it has changed how I work and play.
Speaking of change, we now allow you to change your Team's Sign Up Link! Perhaps you gave it out to the wrong folks, or accidentally posted it somewhere you did not intend to. If so, no worries, simply go to the Admin Console -> Invitations tab and click on the regenerate icon next to the Sign Up Link. A brand new link will be created, while the old link will be deactivated.
New
Team administrators can now regenerate the team sign up link in the Invitations tab of the Admin Console. {503}
Improvements
Consolidated action buttons on a person's profile at the bottom of the page. {1260}
Added a "try again" button if connection times out during signup. {1214}
Adding some nice colour to our team/family signup pages.
Fixed
Item counts in the web client no longer include trashed items. They now properly correspond to the native client counts. {822}
Welcome to the last build of Q1-2016, can you believe that a full 3 months of 2016 has already passed! I am still writing 2015 whenever I write the date. Well, at least we have a very nice update to wish the first quarter goodbye and welcome in April.
Have you been wanting to change your Master Password? Well now we give you that chance. Simply go to your Profile within the web application and select Change Master Password. Remember that you will have to re-sign in to your 1Password accounts on your various devices.
A few builds ago we introduced the ability to add new custom fields to your items in the Vault View. Today's build allows you to change those fields to any type of custom field, watch below and be amazed.
New
You can now change your Master Password and regenerate your Account Key from your profile. {110}
In vault view, you can now change the field type (from Text to Password, for example). {652}
Improvements
Clarified description of Personal and Shared vaults. {1303}
Fixed
A bug where you could activate your account more than once and end up with duplicate vaults and groups {1298}
Fixed a case where the "Empty Trash" and "View Archived Items" buttons would overlap. {1306}
We had a pretty nasty bout of freezing rain today as winter tries hard to linger on here in Toronto. Here's a shiny new beta to help keep you warm.
A few betas ago we introduced the Item History feature, allowing you to view and restore previous changes to your 1Password items. Now we have extended that awesome feature to include Document items. Click on the View item history button when viewing a Document item and you can restore previous versions of that document.
Not feeling in a sharing mood? We've also implemented one of your most frequent requests, allowing you to delete the Shared vault.
Improvements
Item history is now supported for Document items.
Added a "Role" column to the lists of members and guests in the Admin Console. {1112}
Updated favicon, added Apple Touch Icon, and added Safari pinned tab icon.
You can delete the Shared vault if you don’t need it. {1268}
Well... this was supposed to be beta 73 and I had this whole Big Bang Theory description of why 73 is the best number. Sadly we found a couple of problems in that beta through our testing, so we've skipped ahead to beta 74. The most exciting thing I could find about the number 74 was that it is the minimum sustained winds (in mph) to be considered a hurricane :)
Today's beta also focuses on helping those who have accidentally set up their Family as a Team account. 1Password Families has a simpler permissions model than 1Password for Teams. This beta will better help those who are switching from a Team to a Family account move their Team Members (now Family Members) over to that simpler setup.
Improvements
The Team to Family conversion process for teams with custom settings. {1213}
Clarified setup instructions on the "Get the Apps" page. {1195}
Better version checks on outdated unsupported chrome versions. {1249}
Other browsers don't count towards the devices quest.
Now using "web address" instead of "account url" in the Emergency Kit.
Clarified who has access to the Shared vault in family accounts. {1243}
Fixed
Fixed rare problem when registering new users.
No longer allowing Admin Console pages (even though they were blank) to be loaded by non-admins. {1124}
Prevent deleting the last manager of the Owners group.
This weekend saw Daylight Savings time start here in Canada... giving us an extra hour in the day, and boy what we did with that extra time! We have an incredible beta coming your way with a host of new and exciting features.
Remember that time you accidentally deleted those items and were desperate to get them back. Well, we have great news for you. Click on the Trash > View Archived Items button in the Vault view and you can restore them good as new.
Did you want to add your child to a vault, but don't want them changing passwords on you? Well, we've also added vault permissions in 1Password Families. Now you can share a vault with your family members with either View only or Allow Editing.
You can even add new text Sections and Fields to your 1Password items in our Vault view editor.
So as you can see, we put that extra hour to incredible use and came up with all sorts of awesome new features. I really hope you enjoy them. :)
Wait, what... you mean that we lost an hour with Daylight Savings instead of gaining one? Well then, I have absolutely no idea how we got all this incredible work done. Magic. It must have been magic.
New
Deleted vault items can now be restored. (In the Trash section of a vault, you'll see a "View Archived Items" button.) {862}
Family accounts can now assign Read Only or Edit access to vaults. {1126}
You can now add new sections and fields to your items in vault view. {650, 651}
Improvements
Using a better style for group role selection, specifically, better than a menu inside a menu. :)
Uploading and viewing Document items is now supported in Safari and Firefox. (Previously, only Chrome and Opera were supported.) {434, 1157}
Were you able to see the total solar eclipse today, perhaps from NASA TV or if you are lucky enough, even in person? I don't quite know what I find so fascinating by them, but I love to watch them.
We have our own exciting event today, with the release of our new Beta 65... and you don't even need to wear protective eye glasses! This beta brings with it a number of nice improvements including the ability to use the 1Password web application in Safari's Private Browsing mode. We have also fixed up our 1Password lock in Chrome 39 so our icon, much like today's moon, floats perfectly in front of its shadow image.
Improvements
Password generator settings are now saved for each user.
Create New Team link will ask you to select a plan type.
Now saving the Account Key in a custom field when saving team or family account credentials in 1Password. {1056}
Improved the "switch to family account" section of Settings page. It's now more descriptive, and we show a confirmation popup to prevent accidental switches. {1205}
Fixed
Our lock image is now looking all pretty again in Chrome 49 {883}
Disabled an account migration that would incorrectly attempt to run on every sign-in for some users. {1202}
You can now sign in to 1Password in Safari in Private Browsing mode and in other cases where local browser storage is unavailable. {1109}
Fixed a rare "scrollTop" error that could show up in vault view. {1149}
Prevent forwarding of the referrer URL when linking from the web application.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday. We have a small beta update today to make it just that much better. :)
Most of the changes in today's beta are internal and not something you can yet see or notice, but there are a few changes and improvements that you might. One change in particular is the addition of further caching which should result in a snappier performance.
New
Adding the plan select page (Family or Team) on start.1password.com.
Improvements
Performance improvements through moar caching.
Fixed
When creating/editing an item in vault view, blank or duplicate tags are no longer allowed. {1164}
In like a Lion... the beginning of March brings with it an awesome new beta full of fixes and updates aimed at improving your overall experience with 1Password for Teams or Families.
Speaking of Families... if your Team is really a Family in disguise then this new beta can help you out! We have added the ability to switch your Teams account to a Family account in the Settings tab. Please be careful though, as it is a one-way switch at the moment.
New
Added a button to the Settings tab in team accounts to allow family teams to switch to a real family account. {1132}
Improvements
We've redesigned the Emergency Kit to be clearer and easier to use. {615, 669, 705, 748, 851, 1139}
Tweaks and adjustments to improve performance of the app. {P-2217}
Fixed
Fixed an error that could appear when opening the Invitations tab of the Admin Console. {1167}
Resolved a specific crash with the error "too much recursion" that could occur in Firefox on Windows 10. {946}
Some family account members could not change their email address because of an issue {1156}
Fixed problem where Admin Console was not available to the members of Recovery Group. {1125, 1128}
No longer showing a misleading "Recover" permission under some vault access items. {1155}
Fixed an issue where the sidebar could be cut off in Firefox. {1159}
Can you believe it is already near the end of February! Can you believe it has been a whole week since we've released a beta! Wow, time does fly by.
Here is our brand new Beta 61.
Team Owners and Admins can recover accounts for other people on their Team. However, no one can recover their own account. That’s why it’s critical to have multiple Owners and Admins for each team. This beta helps remind you of how important this is. Adding a second Team Member to your team will cause a new Recovery banner to appear, recommending that you add additional Owners or Admins. Click on the banner to add someone as an Owner or Admin and be on your way to better safeguarded team.
New
Added special banner to remind about important recovery settings. {1069,939}
Added migration that creates Team Members group if needed. {1131}
Improvements
Clarified the Administrators checkbox in the create vault form. It lets anyone in the Administrators group manage the vault. {1064}
Improved the display of vault icons on the details page. {945}
If permissions changes fail, the user interface will no longer appear to update anyway if the menu is closed. {198}
To help prevent accidental loss of access, the user interface now prevents removing one's own Manage permission for a vault. {330}
Fixed
Fixed problem that prevented display of sent emails in ProtonMail.
No longer allowing you to delete the last owner in your account. {1103}
No longer creating two vaults when pressing enter or clicking "Create Vault" twice in a row. {1059}
Fixed problem that might have prevented some Documents from being decrypted because of inconsistencies in Base64 encoding. {1148}
Fixed problem that might have blocked certain Recover requests because of their size. {1150}
Fixed problem where text misplaced in Safari. {1146}
Made several changes that will hopefully fix the hard-to-recreate "too much recursion" errors. {946}
Welcome to a wonderful Saturday night Beta. Okay... for those who were watching very carefully, you might have noticed that we actually had two betas one after another as we had a minor snafu with the first one.
We have taken yet another step in our never ending quest to prevent you from getting locked out of your 1Password account by adding a mandatory Emergency Kit Quest. This quest will appear automatically whenever a new team is registered, or when a new person joins your team and encourage them to save or print their Emergency Kit. If you are interested in learning more about the Emergency Kit we have a pretty nice article here: https://support.1password.com/emergency-kit/
New
When registering a new team, your 1Password Emergency Kit is now generated and presented to you as your very first quest. {775, 1045}
Improvements
Sometimes it's just a heroic kind of day, and you feel like challenging yourself to a quest. What's a hero to do when there are no more quests to conquer? Never fear, you can now click any conquered quest to do it again! Stay heroic. {1114}
If a user's session ends (eg. if they are suspended) while they are signed in to 1Password, instead of seeing an obscure error message, they will now be automatically signed out with an explanation that the session has expired. {402, 1113}
1Password now displays helpful messages on the lock screen when you sign out, reload the page, or let it auto-lock. {342}
Minor updates to the Proxima Nova fonts.
Fixed
You can now download your Emergency Kit in Microsoft Edge. {1098}
Guests will no longer display the "Add to Owners" button in family accounts. {1093}
Shared vault name cannot currently be changed, so we've removed that option from the interface for now. {1101}
Added a workaround for cases when invalid information was exported when generating public/private keys using Microsoft Edge browser.
Our last beta was the Family Day edition, so this beta is our Families edition!
We've made a number of wording and display updates so that those who are signing up for a Family account feel a little more at home. After all it was a little awkward adding my wife and son as Team Members... even though we absolutely feel like we are a team.
Another significant feature we added was the ability to add/remove people from and change permissions to, the Shared vault for Teams accounts. This was a pretty widely requested feature and I hope you all enjoy it.
New
1Password Families now has much more family-er wording.
You can now manage permissions to the Shared vault in Teams accounts. Yay!
Improvements
Improved family domain suggestions if the desired domain is taken.
Improved email templates for family teams.
Updated family settings message to let people know they will be able to add their payment method soon, but not quite yet.
Fixed
an issue where some Guests could be added to the Shared vault.
Welcome to the Family Day edition of our 1Password for Teams Beta!
Today is Family Day here in Ontario and I couldn't think of a better way to spend it than with my AgileBits family putting this beta together so I could share it with you, our extended 1Password for Teams beta family. :)
This build fixes a number of the errors that have been occurring when trying to create vaults or add Team Members to those vaults. Please let us know if you continue to find errors when doing so. Or of course, any other errors you happen to encounter.
Improvements
Improved Admin Console page load time.
Now able to send invitation welcome messages that are up to 1024 bytes long.
Fixed
You can now confirm up to 10 Team Members at the same time. {1086}
an issue that could causes errors where assigning multiple people to the same vault at once.
an issue that could cause creating a vault with a large description to fail. {1085}
Wow, it is hard to believe that this is already our 50th beta build. We certainly couldn't have done it without both your support and your awesome feedback. That is especially true for today's beta as we have some pretty big changes to groups based on your feedback as you will see below.
As many of you have requested, we are changing the Owner group so that it will have manage access to any newly created team vault. By default the Owners will not be able to see the content of those vaults but can share them with others. We have also created a brand new Team Member group and any new Team Member you invite to your team will be automatically added to that group. This will help make it easy for you to assign everyone on your team to shared vaults that you create.
New
New Team Members group will contain any newly added Team Member.
Owners will have manage access to all new vaults. {1051}
Improvements
Point to the brand new 1Password 6 for Android in our Get the Apps page.
Put some groundwork in place for an upcoming improvement to help those who share computers. {1050}
When adding Administrators on the Create Vault form, they will be added with Manage Only access to avoid cluttering their list of vaults they actually use. {1052}
Fixed
After account recovery, we now store the user's new Account Key in their browser's local storage. {1061}
Fixed an issue where vault permissions could be fewer than intended if a person is added to multiple groups at the same time. {1048}
Fixed an issue where some Document items created with the web client weren't able to be opened using 1Password for Mac. {1068}
Point to the awesome new 1Password 6 for Android in Get the Apps page.
Our up-and-coming family accounts are getting some behind-the-scenes touchups! We've simplified controls to have just one button for making a member an Owner, and it's much easier to see everyone's permissions for a vault in one place. {1053}
Put some groundwork in place for an upcoming improvement to help those who share computers. {1050}
Owners will now have manage access to all new vaults. {1051}

Fixed an issue where some Document items created with the web client weren't able to be opened using 1Password for Mac. {1068}
In vault view, Document items can now be created in Chrome or Opera.
In vault view, item Sections and Fields can now be deleted. {650, 651}
Improvements
Moved Groups section above Vaults section on person detail page to match the vaults detail page. {989}
Master Password input fields now feature bigger, prettier, more secure bullets. Well, at least they make me feel more secure. {1057}
Domains will now be reserved for 5 min instead of 2 weeks when signing up. This means that if you enter a wrong email address, you can sign up again much more quickly. {1030}
Fixed
Account information (email and Account Key) wasn't being stored in the browser's Local Storage after signup, only after subsequent sign-ins. It is now stored immediately after signup so your account will be remembered in your browser next time you try signing in.
For compatibility with our other apps, we now ensure all properties of vault item fields are defined. {1054}
Changed color of text in disabled input field on sign-in page in Safari to match other browsers.
We just returned from an awesome company get together and are buzzing with new ideas and great plans to make 1Password even better. All the traveling knocked us off our standard schedule of publishing a new release every day. With Beta 47, we're looking to get back into that groove :)
The most exciting piece of this release is our Get the Apps page now has a download link for Android! I've been using my Nexus 6P exclusively for the last few weeks and thanks to our awesome Android developers, 1Password for Teams is working great there.
I'm so excited to have all four platforms linked now! I got tired of all the "Coming Soon" links :)
My second favourite part of this release is the new Login page. We're now highlighting the Account Key to make it clear that you need all three items to login in your team:
New
1Password 6 for Android is now available with support for 1Password for Teams, and we've added the link to the "Get the Apps" page {1040}
Re-designed sign in page. The Account Key field will now always be displayed, along with other design improvements. {834}
Improvements
Better error message for item editing conflicts in vault view. Screenshot {1009}
Preventing tabbing to guarded/readonly field titles.
The default Shared vault now has a blue colour for newly created teams.
The Get the Apps page now links directly to the Mac app download instead of the setup article.
Getting things ready for a special Family plan. If you've read this far, you're getting a glimpse into what we're announcing on Valentine's Day ;)
Fixed
Fixed focus styling of team menu in Safari. {860}
No longer showing certain group membership controls if we know you won't be allowed to complete the action. {1013}
Simply clicking a group in the Admin Console in certain situations could display an error message. Now it doesn't. {1014}
It has been a week since our last beta, so we must have some pretty awesome stuff to share with you today, and we do. In particular we have a long overdue feature for all of you whom speld ur teem nayme rong. That's right, you can finally update the name of your team in the Admin Console Settings tab.
We've also changed the names of the default vaults, because naming is hard, like really hard, like we locked ourselves in a room until we came out with something we could finally agree upon hard. I hope you find the new names a bit easier to work with and understand.
This build is coming to you a bit late in the day... but hey, we are on island time today :)
New
Added the ability for administrators to change the team name in the Settings tab of the Admin Console. Okay, it was a bit embarrassing that this wasn't possible until now. :) {656}
[FIXED]] In vault detail view, the labels of reserved fields are no longer editable, matching the behaviour of our other apps. {1017}
Improvements
Removed Account Key prefix from the sign-in prompt to avoid confusion when the email or domain is invalid. {834}
We're now referring to your Your Vault vault as your Personal vault. Yup! We only needed to say that old name twice before we got tired of it and needed a change.
The Everyone vault is now called Shared. The old name felt more like a group than a vault so we switched it up to focus on the task it's useful for.
Show error message if account key generation fails during account setup.
Fixed
Don't allow generating Master Passwords on touch screen devices, since the practice screen won't work and the user won't be able to complete setup. Hopefully we can get a real fix soon. {1002}
Don't truncate the Account Key on the final setup panel. {984}
Fixed an error when activating an account when the request size was too large.
Fixed an issue where Owners who have been removed from the Admin group were not able to create vaults. {1021}
Fixed some Firefox-specific UI issues in the account setup process. {995, 996}
Replaced "archive" with "delete" when deleting a vault to better indicate that the vault cannot be retrieved after being deleted. {825}
Enhanced several database queries to bring you an even faster experience. Moar speed!
Update signup verification email now that we support more browsers.
When suggesting a domain during signup we're smarter and no longer suggest domains with multiple, consecutive hyphens.
Clarified description and instructions in the popup shown while generating your Emergency Kit. {449}
Fixed
Squished a bug that prevented you from managing a vault (adding people or groups) immediately after creating it. {887}
Removed the "Manage Access" and "Manage Groups" buttons from the person details page if that person is you, because you can't remove yourself from a vault or group or add yourself to a new one. {899}
All Vaults would fail to load the vault items if you did not have read access to one of the vaults. Now it just ignores non-readable vaults. {903}
If you could view a person's page, but you weren't a member of all the groups they were a member of, you'd get an error and almost blank screen. Now the page loads properly. {968}
